Leonardo Marker
He is a distinguished executive in the Mexican entertainment industry.
With a career spanning 34 years, he has excelled as a producer, radio and television host, researcher, reporter, scriptwriter, and head of information and content. Born on May 13, 1980, in the Florida neighborhood of Mexico City, he embarked on his journey at the age of nine, appearing in various melodramas until the age of 15.
At 18, he delved into the production and creation of content for successful television shows such as HOY (Federico Wilkins from 2000 to Carmen Armendáriz in 2005 and 2009), Big Brother (Pedro Torres), La Oreja (Alexis Núñez), El Rival Más Débil (Héctor Tostado - Freemantlemedia), Al Sabor del Chef (Nino Canún), Mentiras y Verdades, los 50 años de las Telenovelas (Carmen Armendáriz), and Mujeres Asesinas, among others.
From 2007 to 2011, he served as the director of public relations and press at The Mates Contents, S.A. de C.V., a consortium of producer Pedro Torres. During this period, he contributed to series, campaigns, and programs such as Amantes de Café, Destapados Sprite, De Por Vida Bancomer, YOO sí voy, Tiempo Final 3, and Estrellas del Bicentenario.
Between 2009 and December 2017, he collaborated with Juan Carlos López 'El Canibal' and Carlo Antonio Rico, producing and developing scripts and content for numerous programs for the Vice Presidency of Special Events of Televisa. Notable productions include TVyNovelas Awards, 12 Uvas, 12 Deseos, Fiesta Mexicana, Juan Gabriel, Esta Es Mi Historia, Pedro Infante Vive, Estamos Unidos Mexicanos, Por Siempre Selena, and the live chronicle of the day Jenni Rivera passed away.
For three years, he presented, directed, and produced the Mujeres Asesinas TV capsules and hosted Asesinomanía, a program broadcast on all local cable systems in Mexico. He also hosted México Suena for Televisa Regional.
From 2009 to 2013, he served as a consultant, advisor, image, activist, and public relations officer for the Vicente Ferrara Foundation and executive producer of the national campaigns of En Nuestras Manos.
In 2010, he co-created Vidas Paralelas with Aurora Valle, which later transformed into Aurora Valle Presenta, El Lado Humano de los Famosos in 2011.
The same year, he was the general producer of the entire digital platform and multimedia content of La Voz… México, a reality show for the search for vocal talent. Additionally, he handled the broadcast's public relations and press department.
In 2012, he, along with Pedro Torres, created the program Hace 10 Años... Big Brother to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the first reality show in Mexico. He hosted the special Lo Que No Se Vio on Channel 5 of Televisa.
In 2013, he served as the press director for the series Gossip Girl Acapulco under the production of Pedro Torres and Andrés Tovar.
He was also a columnist for Estilo DF - El Semanario de Moda en México, publishing over 100 interviews with different Personalities with Style.
Simultaneously, he produced and hosted The Leonardo Marker podcast, a weekly space where he interviewed significant figures in the national entertainment industry. He also produced and hosted the entertainment podcast El Retén… ¡De Esta Revision Nadie Se Escapa! alongside Carmen Armendáriz, Aurora Valle, Martha Figueroa, and Lupita Martínez.
In 2015, he was the multimedia content producer and managed public and press relations for the telenovela Amor de Barrio by producer Roberto Hernández for Televisa.
In 2016, he returned to the soap opera scene with YAGO... Un Amor Traicionado, overseeing coordinating content, multimedia production, public relations, and press.
In 2017, he successfully relaunched the three seasons of Mujeres Asesinas on Las Estrellas and contributed to the creative team of the game show 100 Mexicanos Dijieron.
In January 2018, he joined TV Azteca under the leadership of Alberto Ciurana and Sandra Smester. With Dio Lluberes and Guadalupe Escamilla, he brought Club de Eva and Todo Un Show to the screen. Later, he served as the director of talent, hiring numerous entertainment figures for programs such as La Academia, MasterChef Celebrity, Soy Famoso Sácame de Aquí, and Survivor Mexico, among others. He concluded his tenure with TV Azteca in September 2022.
